Man’s life on earth is short but the Hereafter is infinite. The name of the permanent address of a Muslim is Jannah. Today we will know 10 acts of going to Jannah in the light of hadith.

A simple person is very dear to Allah. Narrated Uthman bin Affan: ‘that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘Allah will admit to Paradise a man who was lenient when he sold and when he bought.’ (Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith No: 2202)

Caring for the patient:

Thauban, the freed slave of Allah’s Messenger (SAW), reported that ‘Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: He who visits the sick continues to remain in the fruit garden of Paradise until he returns.’ (Sahih Muslim 2568)

Caring for orphans:

Caring for orphans is a very rewarding job. Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d: ‘The Prophet (SAW) said, ‘I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this,’ putting his index and middle fingers together.’ (Sahih al-Bukhari 6005)

A few valuable etiquettes:

The virtues of some etiquette are many. Narrated Ubada bin As-Samit: ‘who took part in the battle of Badr and was a Naqib (a person heading a group of six persons), on the night of Al-‘Aqaba pledge: Allah’s Apostle said while a group of his companions was around him, ‘Swear allegiance to me for 1. Not to join anything in worship along with Allah. 2. Not to steal. 3. Not to commit illegal sexual intercourse. 4. Not to kill your children. 5. Not to accuse an innocent person (to spread such an accusation among people) 6. Not to be disobedient (when ordered) to do a good deed.’ (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No: 18)

Tahajjud/ Night Prayer:

Tahajjud is the name of leaving the comfortable bed and praying in the court of Allah when the world is asleep. Abdullah bin Salam said: ‘the first thing I heard him say was when he said: O people! Spread (the greeting of) Salam, feed others, uphold the ties of kinship, and pray during the night when people are sleeping, and you will enter Paradise with Salam.’ (Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 3251)

Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam. Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (SAW) said, ‘Whoever performs Hajj for Allah’s pleasure and does not have sexual relations with his wife, and does not do evil or sins then he will return (after Hajj free from all sins) as if he were born anew.’ (Bukhari, Hadith: 1521)

Ayat al-Kursi:

The greatest verse of the Qur’an is Ayat al-Kursi. The Prophet (SAW) used to recite it after prayers. Abu Umamah reported: ‘The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, ‘Whoever recites the ‘verse of the Throne’ (Ayat al-Kursi) after every prescribed prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and his entry into Paradise but death.’ (Sunan an-Nasa’i: 9928)

Construction of the mosque:

Allah will build a luxurious house in Paradise for the builder of the mosque. Narrated Uthman ibn Affan: ‘that he heard Allah’s Messenger (SAW) say, ‘If anyone builds a mosque for Allah then Allah will build for him the like of it in Paradise.’ (Ahmed 434, Bukhari 450, Muslim 533, Ibn e Majah 736)

Sunnat prayers:

The importance of performing Sunnat prayers before and after the Farz prayers is immense. Umm Habibah narrated that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: ‘Whoever prays twelve Rak’ah in a day and night, a house will be built from him in Paradise: Four Rak’ah before Zuhr, two Rak’ah after it, two Rak’ah after Maghrib, two Rak’ah after Isha, and two Rak’ah before Fajr in the morning Salat.’ (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 415)

Farz prayers:

Rabi’a b. Ka’b said: ‘I was with Allah’s Messenger (SAW) one night. And I brought him water and what he required. He said to me: Ask (anything you like). I said: I ask your company in Paradise. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Or anything else besides it. I said: That is all (what I require). He said: Then help me to achieve this for you by devoting yourself often to prostration.’ (Sahih Muslim 489).
