24 passengers killed as bus plunges into ravine in South Sumatra, Indonesia
At midnight on December 23 a Palembang-bound bus plunged into a ravine in South Sumatra Province, Indonesia, killing 24 people and injuring 13 others.
The 13 people who suffered injuries have been moved to a nearby hospital, Chief of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Office in Palembang, South Sumatra, Berty DJ Kowaas stated on December 24.
With 37 passengers onboard, the bus met with an accident while passing the Lematang curve in Perahu Dipo, Dempo Selatan Sub-district, Pagaralam City, South Sumatra.
The cause of the accident is still not known.
