25,000 displaced civilians in Idlib and more to come
A Syrian NGO said on Saturday that 25,000 civilians were displaced in northwestern Syria in the past week after attacks from the regime on the Idlib de-escalation zone.
Mohammad Halaj, head of Syria’s Response Coordination Group, said that thousands of civilians were displaced in the first week of December alone due to attacks by Bashar al-Assad regime forces, Iranian and Russian backed militia.
425,000 civilians currently live in Maarat al-Nouman, Saraqib and Ariha districts in Idlib and will be under threat if the violence escalates.
Hallaj added that hospitals, schools, mosques, civilian defense centres and houses were not safe from these attacks.
