Air Asia adds 437 extra flights for Aidilfitri
In conjunction with the upcoming Aidilfitri (Eid ul-Fitr) celebration this June 5, Malaysian low-cost airline Air Asia will be adding 437 extra flights from May 30 to June 16 2019 for passengers flying within the Malaysian and Singapore region.
The additional flights will be mounted from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, Kuching, Sibu, Miri, Sandakan, Tawau, Alor Setar, Kota Bharu, Langkawi, Terengganu and Johor Bahru.
Meanwhile from Johor Bahru, additional flights will be offered to Kuching, Miri, Sibu, Tawau and Alor Setar.
The airline’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Riad Asmat expressed the company’s objective to play its part in reuniting family and friends during the festive season.
“To cope with the unexpected surge in demand during the festive period, we are adding these extra flights, amounting to an additional 78,000 seats, so everyone can balik raya (head home for Hari Raya).
“There’s more to come as our teams work hard to secure more flights. We would also like to thank the authorities for their support in making the additional frequencies possible,” he added.
The additional flights are now available through airasia.com as well as the AirAsia mobile app.
