Arabian Gulf teams vying for place in cup final
The Arabian gulfs footbal teams have been competing for supremacy in this years Gulf Cup. Currently Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and Iraq have reached the semi-finals and seek to secure a place in the final on Sunday in Doha.
This years tournament was given a boost in November when Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain announced their participation despite having cut ties with Qatar two years ago. Diplomatic and transport ties were cut following allegations of Qatari support for militant and terror organizations. Qatar continues to deny these allegations.
The semi-finals will see Iraq play Bahrain and Saudi Arabia play Qatar. Both games will take place on Thursday.
