Celebs Who Rocked Modest Ensembles At The Met Gala 2019
The pink-carpeted staircase at the Met Gala annual event witnessed celebrities pulling all the stops with their jaw-dropping outfits that matched this year’s theme – Camp: Notes on Fashion.
Guests were encouraged to be as theatrical, colourful and extravagant as possible. The world watched the celebrities come together and try to master high fashion. There were underwhelming moments but also glorious moments. Either way, everyone tried their best to ace the theme, and show that they’ve done the homework assigned by Met Gala.
We present to you celebrities who stood out with their campy yet modest ensembles.
This young star poked fun with her ombre tulle gown, by Viktor & Rolf Spring 2019, etched with ‘No Photos Please’ into the front layer of the dress.
Gigi Hadid took us to the future with a head-to-toe sequined silver, white and gold ensemble from the Michael Kors collection. She then paired it with a tailored coat with a feathered train.
Michael B Jordan
This Black Panther star upped the ante for the fashion event by opting for a modern sequin-and-satin tuxedo look! He certainly looks like a fashionable superhero (or supervillain).
Lady Gaga walked on the pink carpet and turned into a real-life Russian doll as she switched into four different outfits for the camera! The first outfit is a gorgeous fuchsia dress with an enormous train which she paired with her platinum hair wore in a rounded bob paired with dainty bows. She brings ‘extra’ to a whole new level.
The editor-in-chief of Vogue and co-chair of the Met Gala arrived on the pink carpet covered in a pink and purple feathered cape, paired with a crystal-embellished Chanel gown. She topped off her dazzling look with jewelled necklaces.
Benedict Cumberbatch opted for a white three-piece suit and fedora for the event, joined by his wife Sophie Hunter. Fans were freaking out when they spotted a rather familiar looking jewel pinned to his cravat! The jewel in question appeared to look exactly like the Time Stone, worn by his Doctor Strange role. A white suit, time stone and a cane? He surely knows how to make a style statement.
