Chelsea transfer ban halved
Champions league contenders Chelsea have been cleared to sign players in the January transfer window after Friday’s Court of Arbitration for Sport’s ruling that halved the Premier league clubs transfer ban. It also halved the Clubs fine to 300,000 Swiss Francs.
The west London side and defending Europa League winners were handed a two window ban by FIFA for breaching rules on registration and international transfer of players under-18.
FIFA had declared Chelsea in breach of article 19 of regulations in the case of 29 youth players.
Chelsea are now forth in the table despite featuring many academy players in the first team but will look to add reinforcements in January.
