Chile identifying remains of plane crash victims
The remains of the victims of a military plane crash that claimed 38 lives were flown to a military base in Chile on Friday for identification.
The remains were brought to the base on a Hercules C-130 plane, the same type of plane that crashed off the southern tip of South America on Monday. A total of 39 relatives of 11 crash victims flew Friday from Santiago to Punta Arenas, where the base is located, to provide DNA samples.
Authorities have not identified the cause of the crash as the planes maintenance record was in order.
