Mexico has overtaken the United Kingdom as the country with the third highest covid-19 death toll.
The pandemic has killed nearly 47,000 people in Mexico and nearly 425,000 have been diagnosed with the virus. Rates of infection are estimated by local authorities to be up to five times that number.
The news comes as Italy has reimposed social distancing rules on trains after previously allowing them to run at full capacity. Brazil has lifted an international air travel ban.
