Egypt has said that it will help 800 stranded nationals to return home from Sudan early next week according to local media citing the Emigration and Expatriate Affairs Ministry.

They will be offered buses to transport them back to Egypt and will return to their home country via the Egyptian-Sudanese border.

Egyptians wishing to utilise this opportunity should apply to the embassy at Khartoum, said Nabila Makram, the Emigration and Expatriate Affairs Minister.

The border between the two countries will also be reopened.

The development comes as Egypt has gradually been returning to normalcy, including reopening 266 hotels and resorts which had obtained the necessary certification.
