Egyptians return home from neighbouring countries
Hundreds of citizens of Egypt who had previously found themselves stranded overseas due to the coronavirus pandemic returned to Egypt on Wednesday as the airports have been reopened for the first time in three months.
Over 1,000 Egyptian citizens made their way back from Kuwait, 308 from New York, 174 from Qatar, and 217 from Sudan.
Returnees were tested for coronavirus and none tested positive.
The Ministry of Immigration and Expatriate Affairs has thanked all neighbouring countries for their support in the matter and emphasised that the country made a concerted effort to repatriate all those who were left stranded abroad.
