The glorious and holy month of Ramadan is knocking on our door. And after a few days, the month of Ramadan Mubarak will begin with the special mercy, blessings, forgiveness, and salvation of Allah. In order to get this unrestricted blessing and welfare, one has to get himself ready for Ramadan from now on. Because if you prepare well for any important task, half of the completion and success of that task is achieved. Therefore, it is important for all believing Muslims to take full spiritual preparation from now on in order to get all the benefits of Ramadan.

So here are some tips to help you get ready for the holy month of Ramadan-

Mental preparation to get ready for Ramadan

All Muslims should start fasting as much as possible from the month of Sha’ban in preparation for the month of Ramadan. Ayesha (R) said, “I did not see the Prophet (SAW) observing the month-long fast of any month other than Ramadan, and I did not see him fasting more than any other month except the month of Sha’ban.” (Bukhari, Muslim)

The Sunnah Salah before the five obligatory Salah is preparation for performing the obligatory prayers. It prepares and encourages the mind for prayers. Similarly, a few days fasting in the month of Sha’ban also prepares the body and mind for month-long fasting in Ramadan.

Renouncing sins and repenting to get ready for Ramadan

The month of Ramadan is the month of receiving Allah’s mercy. So in this month, everyone tends towards more and more worship. But if the heart is not free from sin, there is no concentration in worship. Pour of mercy does not fall on sinful hearts. When a person is involved in a sin, he is deprived of the grace of worship.

Therefore, in order to get more grace of worship in Ramadan and to be blessed by Allah, one has to give up all sins from now on. One must repent to Allah with a pure heart from the sins of the past life. It is necessary to prepare to engage in the worship of the great Lord with devotion to the pure body and mind.

Earning and eating Halal and abstain from Haram

One of the important conditions for getting the grace of accepted worship is to take Halal food and to stay away from Haram. Because one of the prerequisites for the acceptance of dua and worship is Halal earning and eating.

The Prophet (SAW) said, “Surely Allah is sacred and He does not accept anything but the sacred. And verily, Allah has commanded the believers to do as He has commanded His Messengers. Allah says, ‘O Messengers! Eat of that which is lawful, and do righteous deeds.’ Allah further said, ‘O you who believe! Eat of the good things that We have provided for you.’ Then the Prophet (SAW) mentioned a man who was traveling a long way. As a result, his hair has become messy and dusty gray. He raises his hand to the sky and says, ‘O my Lord! O, my Lord!’ But his food is Haram, his drink is Haram, and his clothes are also Haram. So, how can his prayers be accepted in this situation? ” (Muslim)

So, in order to be accepted in worship and supplication and to be saved in the Hereafter, one has to earn and eat Halal sustenance. Therefore, we must be careful that our sustenance is fully Halal in Ramadan.

Learning the rules of fasting as a prelude to Ramadan

Another preparation for Ramadan is to know the rules and regulations of fasting before the month of Ramadan. Every effort should be made to find out the rules so fast of Ramadan is not broken mistakenly.  Nowadays it is not difficult to learn these rules. There are many videos and blogs of scholars online about the rules and virtues of fasting. These can be benefited. Those who have more time on their hands can read books related to Ramadan and fasting.

In order to perform the special acts of worship of Ramadan properly, it is necessary to prepare in advance. The greatest act of Ramadan is fasting. Therefore, preparation for fasting should be taken from the month of Sha’ban. Business, trade, and otherworldly problems should be minimized as much as possible.

A special act of worship in Ramadan is Taraweeh. Completing the Qur’an in Taraweeh prayers is also a different form of worship. For this, we have to take thought and initiative from now on. Another special act of worship in Ramadan is to perform I’tikaf. No Muslim should be deprived of the virtue of I’tikaf. Mental preparation must be taken from now on to perform I’tikaf in a concentrated manner.

Moreover, performing Umrah in Ramadan and giving alms also have special virtues. Therefore, those who can afford it should do more charity in Ramadan and make the intention of Umrah if possible. Therefore, mental and financial preparation must be taken from now on.
