Hong Kong scientists identify first proven case of covid-19 reinfection
Researchers in Hong Kong have announced that they have detected the first proven case of reinfection with covid-19.
This raises important question about the possibility of a vaccine and the effectiveness of natural immunity.
“Our study proves that immunity for COVID infection is not lifelong — in fact, reinfection can occur quite quickly,” stated Kelvin Kai-Wang To, one of the lead authors of the forthcoming study.
Those who have already had the virus are urged to continue washing hands and practising social distancing.
