Dracarys! Fans of HBO’s hit TV show Game of Thrones would know that’s the Valyrian word Daenerys Targaryen would use when she wants to command her dragons to breath fire.

Now this piece of new information is certainly too hot to handle as HBO has announced a ‘Game of Thrones’ spinoff called ‘House of the Dragon.’

Fans will be able to travel some 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones as the show will focus on the history of House Targaryen (the ancestors of Daenerys Targaryen who ruled Westeros) throughout 10 episodes.

According to Variety, director Miguel Sapochnik will direct the pilot as well as additional episodes. Meanwhile, George R.R Martin and Ryan Condal who co-created the series will serve as showrunners and executive producers.

Previously, Sapochnik directed six episodes in Game of Thrones, which include ‘Hardhome’, ‘Battle of the Bastards’, and ‘Winds of Winter’.

“The ‘Game of Thrones’ universe is so rich with stories,” said Casey Bloys, the president of HBO programming. “We look forward to exploring the origins of House Targaryen and the earlier days of Westeros along with Miguel, Ryan and George.”

The big announcement came during WarnerMedia’s HBO Max presentation recently, just hours after it was revealed that a planned ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel pilot starring Naomi Watts (which was still officially untitled) was axed. It was also noted that a pilot shoot in Northern Ireland already happened earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Emilia Clarke who played Daenerys Targaryen reacted to the news of the Naomi Watts-led prequel getting cancelled.

“If it wasn’t meant to happen now, it wasn’t as perfect as everybody wanted it to have been, so it was for the right reasons. Maybe it will get reincarnated,” she said in People.

Now in a separate spinoff’ news, Star Wars fans are set to anticipate a darker, freakier side of Star Wars through The Mandalorian, first ever live-action Star Wars show for Disney+.

‘The Mandalorian,’ which is said to take place after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order, follows a new character played by Pedro Pascal (who played Oberyn Martell in ‘Game of Thrones’) , a bounty hunter with a fearsome reputation.

As the trailer revealed fighting spaceships and battling droids, fans are getting all sorts of Star Wars vibes. During a panel for ‘The Mandalorian’ at the Star Wars Celebration back in April, Pascal described his character as “a mysterious lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy.”

Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that the series costs about $100 million to make, making it one of Disney+’s most ambitious projects.

‘The Mandalorian’ will premier on November 12, and will air weekly throughout 8 episodes, leading up to  ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ in December. What a way to hype up the excitement for the final installment of the Skywalker Saga!
