How does Allah (SWT) control the Universe?
Specific rules control everything in the universe. Allah SWT is governing the universe and human life through certain natural laws. The Holy Qur’an says, ”But you will never find in the way of Allah any change, and you will never find in the way of Allah any alteration.” (Surat Fatir [verse 43]).
A review of Allah’s principles for the management of the universe reveals three basic characteristics: Sustainability, comprehensiveness, and irresistibility.
Allah has written universal and unchangeable principles and guidelines for universe management.
Following the principles and norms of Allah, all living beings and inanimate objects are equal. Nothing is outside of Allah’s law. Allah says, ”Paradise is not [obtained] by your wishful thinking nor by that of the People of the Scripture. Whoever does a wrong will be recompensed for it, and he will not find besides Allah a protector or a helper.” (Surat An-Nisa [verse 123]
Allah’s will, rules, and regulations are irresistible. At any time, in any place, Allah’s judgment is fully effective against any person or object. No one in the universe has the power to resist it; On the contrary, if anyone wants to resist it, his defeat is certain. Allah has destroyed many nations in the past who disobeyed him. Allah says, ”Similar situations [as yours] have passed on before you, so proceed throughout the earth and observe how was the end of those who denied.” (Surat Ali ‘Imran [verse 137])
Allah the Almighty creates a superpower against evil, to preserve universe order so that on earth there is a harmony between forces, the kingdom, and humankind. Allah says, ”And if it were not for Allah checking [some] people by means of others, the earth would have been corrupted, but Allah is full of bounty to the worlds.” (Surat al-Baqarah [verse 251])
Naturally, the climate, environment, and culture on Earth have been reformed and restructured by Allah SWT! Allah Almighty made a perfect plan to solve and normalize a state of catastrophe If someone else has a tragedy. The holy Qur’an says, ”And I do not intend to differ from you in that which I have forbidden you; I only intend reform as much as I am able. And my success is not but through Allah. Upon him, I have relied, and to Him, I return. (Surat Hud [verse 88])
In another verse Allah says, ”And your Lord would not have destroyed the cities unjustly while their people were reformers.” (Surat Hud [verse 117])
Need for Adaptation
The whole universe is constantly changing. The reason behind this change is His work and method of work. Allah SWT said, ”Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allah intends for a people ill, there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron.” (Surat Ar-Ra’d [verse 11])
Allah rewards all creatures according to their deeds. Allah SWT says, ”Then will we treat the Muslims like the criminals?” (Surat al-Qalam [verse 35])
Man cannot understand the principles and universal laws of Allah in the operation of the world. However, the believer needs to adapt as much as is understood from the Qur’an and Hadith narratives.
