Indonesia has arrested three members of an international cybercrime syndicate over a $4.2 million fraud concerning medical equipment, including that which would be used to treat coronavirus patients.

Police intercepted emails between an Italian health service provider and a Chinese company. The fraudsters impersonated the latter and informed the Italian health service provider that bank accounts for payments were now different.

The suspected mastermind of the criminal syndicate is believed to be still at large.
