The provincial government of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, and the conterminous government of Timor Leste have agreed to open land transportation access that directly connects Kupang and Dili, the respective capitals of both regions.

The plan is set to launch on a trial basis in the third week of January 2020, as the Head of Transportation Agency for East Nusa Tenggara Province, Isyak Nuka, told ANTARA in Kupang on December 16.

“We had just got back from Dili after the discussion on planning the cross-border bus, and we agreed upon this plan that will open the service for commercial passengers directly from Kupang to Dili, and vice versa,” Nuka stated.
