Inventor from Turkey helps blind with high-tech walking cane
Inspired by a bloody accident, Kürşat Ceylan, a blind Turkish man was inspired to create WeWalk, the worlds first smart cane. Listed as one of the best inventions of 2019 by time magazine, WeWalk uses cutting age technology by alerting the user to non ground level obstacles by making a sound or vibrating.
The smart cane has already been integrated the public transportation system of Istanbul as well as with google maps and voice assistant. The cane retails for US$346 and looks to integrate ride sharing apps and smart cities in the near future.
