Iranian Navy unveils new homegrown drone
The Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has unveiled a homemade unmanned aerial drone to boost its armaments.
The combat drone dubbed Simorgh, was displayed in a ceremony attended by high ranking officials in the southeastern coastal city of Konorak on Saturday.
The new vehicle has a range of 1,500 feat, a ceiling of 25,000 feet and a flight endurance of 24hrs. It can be used for combat, reconnaissance, tactical operations and electronic warfare. The drone is designed to carry a payload of bombs and rockets or smart missiles designed to hit both fixed and mobile targets.
