Jamaican Toni-Ann Singh crowned Miss World
Toni-Ann Singh from Jamaica was crowned Miss World 2019 on Dec. 14. She said she wanted to use this platform and her title to work for sustainable change for women and their children.
“I want to make a change that’s sustainable. So if we’re talking women… it needs to be something that will make sure that their children and their children’s children have a different value of life,” she told reporters after winning the title.
Singh claimed that she could not attribute her win solely to her beauty. Singh, paid tribute to Whitney Houston in the talent portion of the competition and received the crown from last year’s winner, Vanessa Ponce of Mexico.
