It’s been an interesting year for Mattel so far.

From teaming up with the hottest South Korean boy band BTS for a special collaboration early this year, the American toymaker has traveled to a galaxy far far away to take inspiration for its latest line of Barbie dolls.

Mattel recently joined forces with Disney to pay homage to the 1977 original Star Wars: A New Hope. Its new line features Barbie dolls dressed as Darth Vader, R2-D2, and of course Princess Leia.

“Introducing the all-new #StarWars x Barbie Dolls, inspired by the film, Star Wars: A New Hope. Celebrating the original concept art, this collectible set pays homage to three iconic characters,” tweeted the company.

The dolls are not exactly accurate representations of the iconic Star Wars characters, rather it’s more a cosplay-like reinterpretation, with its own stylish and high fashion imaginative flair.

Princess Leia Barbie is inspired by the character’s look in A New Hope, but she takes it up a notch with strappy high heels, a sleek-looking purse, and a lower braid-bun combo.

Darth Vader Barbie looks extra fierce with a long cape, mysterious sunglasses topped with a shiny bob haircut. (It’s almost like Devil Wears Prada meets Star Wars, to be honest).

The R2-D2 Barbie is equally fashionable, complete with a high blue ponytail and a modern skirt-top ensemble.

The dolls are now available for pre-order on Amazon and will officially start shopping on November 18. Each doll is priced at $100. May the force be with you.
