Pakistan to ask Saudi to extend coverage for Makkah Route Initiative for Hajj Pilgrims
Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, the federal minister for religious affairs, said that Pakistan would be asking for Saudi Arabia to extend the Makkah Route Initiative to all Pakistani Hajj Pilgrims for the upcoming season in 2020.
The initiative was agreed upon during Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salmans inaugural visit to Pakistan in February. 22000 Hajj pilgrims were cleared for customs and immigration before they departed for Hajj during this years season.
Pakistan have also received an e-visa facility in Saudi Arabia, being the fifth country to get one in addition to its extended Hajj Quota of 200,000.
