Police vehicle in Belfast hit by grenade
A Northern Irish police vehicle was hit by a grenade attack in Belfast on Wednesday in an attempt to injure or kill officers. The vehicle was struck whilst on a routine overnight patrol through the republican heartlands in west Belfast.
The land rover was hit but no officers were injured and the vehicle escaped undamaged. The remnants of the exploded grenade have been recovered for later forensic testing.
The police have taken steps to ensure there are no other explosive devices that could endanger general safety.
