Restaurants in Saudi Arabia no longer need to segregate by gender
Men will no longer need to use special entrances for male customers or sit in a separate partitioned area at restaurants in the latest liberalizing measure announced by the government.
In the past, restaurants and cafes had separates family sections. These sections were allocated for women out on their own or in groups with male relatives. A separate singles section was mandated just for men.
Some restaurants and cafes had separate entrances for men and women and partitions or rooms for families that still segregated men and women.New regulations allow men and women to enter via the same entrance.
