Us mere mortals can only daydream about the mind-blowing privileges celebrities get, but if there’s one thing most make-up lovin’ girls would envy, is that they have access to glam squads. Whether it’s going for a dinner party or attending a social event, a glam squad is at their service.

With the glam squad, make-up mishaps are less likely to happen. But for us, beauty blunders are something we can all relate to. The good thing is that there are plenty of ways to fix damage control!

If you’ve ever experienced any mishaps, fear not. Here are some common beauty blunders and tips on how to fix it so you can look fab in a flash.

This is probably one of the most dreaded beauty blunders to fix. Imagine this – you’ve layered on some foundation and finished it off with a hint of bronzer and blush. Then you work on the eyeshadow before the most anticipated moment of a make-up routine; the eyeliner. Successfully drawing even winged eyeliner deserves a round of applause, but the world suddenly turns dark when you accidentally smudge some eyeliner across your perfectly blended cheeks. Oh, the horror. Don’t worry, the only thing you need to do is to lightly dab it away with a cotton bud, and touch up the area with some foundation. The key is to blend that area again to match the rest of the face.

Have you ever accidentally piled on too much foundation only to realise it afterwards? There is a simple way to reverse this mistake and that is to use your moisturiser. When you feel like your foundation is too heavy, add a dab of moisturiser onto the skin and rub it in small circles. Blot off any excess product off with a damp sponge. Voila!

Everyone loves a pair of bold, bushy beautiful brows, but you don’t want to walk around looking like you drew your eyebrows with a thick sharpie. Be careful not to go too bold when drawing in your eyebrows. The last thing you’d want to do is for your arches to appear aggressively draw-on until it appears too fake. If you feel like your brows are too bold, brush the hair up and down with an eyeshadow brush.

Look, we all want naturally, rosy cheeks and a summer bronze, but you have to be careful not to make your cheeks look like a pair of tomatoes. Get yourself out of the clown territory, buff away the overload with a beauty blender sponge or a clean fluffy brush to get rid of excess product. Tone things down with some loose translucent powder over the area.

It’s super frustrating when your make-up is amazing but then it all goes down the drain when your hot-hued lipstick starts to get flaky or settle outside your natural lip line. If lipstick moved into the creases around the mouth remove it with a damp sponge or cotton swab. To avoid the lips from flaking out, the lip balm should be your best friend. Keep your lips moisturised in order to avoid any flakiness.

This is probably one of the gravest mistakes one can make. The last thing you want is to have your neck appear completely different in colour compared to your face. If this happens, decrease the intensity of the wrong coloured foundation by mixing it with a lighter or darker shade depending if you happen to look extra dark or extra fair. Use a damp make-up sponge to blend the foundation beautifully.

Battling with watery eyes is not uncommon. Smudged mascara is nothing to be afraid of because it has an incredibly easy fix. If you’re on the go, pick a tissue to go to and pick up the majority of the smudged mascara. Disguise whatever else left with some concealer.
