Saudi smokers complain about cigarette quality

Since the “plain packaging” law was implemented in Saudi Arabia on August 23rd this year, a number of smokers have complained to the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) about a perceived difference in the quality of cigarettes inside the packaging.

The complaints were lodged in spite of the insistence of manufacturers’ that there has been no actual change to the cigarettes, only to the packaging. The SFDA examines all shipments coming into the Kingdom to ensure they follow by regulations
