Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Final Trailer Is Here
“The saga will end. The story lives forever.” That is the tagline in the new and final Star Wars trailer for the ninth instalment of the saga which has finally been released, after a long wait.
Intergalactic battles, action, vast raging oceans, drama, lightsabers, and Carrie Fisher’s final performance as Leia Organa is shown throughout the 2 minute and 38 seconds trailer.
Directed, written and produced by JJ Abrams, The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Lupita Nyong’o in addition to the original trilogy cast members Mark Hamill, Ian McDiarmid and Anthoney Daniels as the robot C-3PO.
Speaking of drama, Daisy Ridley who plays Rey said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that the film will address the relationship between Rey and Kylo Ren.
“Obviously, there’s this whole Reylo thing and some people are very passionate about it, some aren’t. It’s a very complex issue. People talk about toxic relationships and whatever it is. It’s no joke and I think it’s dealt with really well because it’s not skimmed over.”
Meanwhile, the director JJ Abrams also said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly about closing the narrative as cohesive as possible.
“This is about bringing this thing to a close in a way that is emotional and meaningful and also satisfying in terms of actually answering as many questions as possible,” he said.
There was one heart-wrenching moment in the trailer when C-P30 said: “Taking one last look, sire.. at my friends.” What does that mean? There are many questions lingering from the trailer, but fans would have to wait just a little longer, precisely when the film hits theaters in Dec 20 to see the fate of Rey and Kylo Ren as well as if the Resistance will win its final battle against the First Order.
