‘Swan Lake’ Ballet to Debut in Kuala Lumpur

Internationally acclaimed prima ballerina Irina Kolesnikova brings together St Petersburg Ballet Theatre’ s stars in a spell-binding production of Swan Lake.

 First staged in St Petersburg, 1895, Swan Lake is set to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s immortal score and is one of the most popular ballet productions in the world.

With its unrivalled “white acts”, its spectacular and dramatic ballroom scene, sublime music and deeply moving story, this is the ballet that towers above all others.

Swan Lake tells the story of the young Prince Siegfried who falls deeply in love with the Swan Princess Odette, a young woman who was transformed into a white swan by the evil sorcerer Rothbart. This is the tale of true love conquering all.

Founded in 1994, St Petersburg Ballet Theatre is famous not just for its beautiful Vaganova trained dancers, but also for its stunning full-length productions.

Led by prima ballerina Irina Kolesnikova, the company travels internationally performing classical masterpieces from its repertoire including Giselle, Don Quixote, La Bayadere, Romeo and Juliette, The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty.

Following sold-out seasons in London, Paris, Sydney and Singapore, Swan Lake will make its debut in Kuala Lumpur promising audiences a performance that will leave a mark on them for life.

The show will be held from Friday 26th July, to Sunday 28th July 2019, at 8.30 pm at the Istana Budaya in Kuala Lumpur.  Ticket prices start from RM95 (Bronze), RM155 (Silver), RM245 (Gold), RM345 (Platinum), RM455 (Diamond) and are available via www.myticket.asia.
