The Sanasaryan Han in the Turkish capital Istanbul’s Sirekci neighbourhood was once home to poor Armenian children, a police headquarters and the Istanbul Courthouse. At present, its landowners want to hold a tender to rent it out for the next 35 years and make it a five-star hotel.

The inn had been tendered to operate as a five-star hotel, but the tender had been cancelled due to a number of lawsuits filed against the plans.

Following the conclusion of the legal process in favour of the General Directorate of Foundations, the inn was re-auctioned on December 30, with the announcement published in the Official Gazette.

The tender will be held on January 28, 2020.
