Tokyo conducts Anti-terrorism drills with dogs ahead of 2020 Games
Dogs trained to detect suspicious items including explosives were involved in anti-terrorism drills at Tokyo station on Wednesday as they continue security preparations for the upcoming Summer Olympic Games.
Labradors and Beagles that had undergone special training sniffed commuters near ticket barriers as officials attempt to impose heavy security without causing too much disruption to Tokyos transport system.
An estimated 600,00 visitors are expected for the games in addition to the 20 million who already use the congested transport system on the daily. Japanese officials hope to integrate the visitors and security measures into the system smoothly and without occurrence.
