Tun Mahathir could stay in power beyond 2020
Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad suggested on Saturday that he may seek to stay in power after 2020. He says, he wanted to fix problems created by the prior government before resigning.
Mahathir was re-elected as part of the first regime change in Malaysian Parliamentary politics in 2018 as part of the head of a coalition government whose larger party is led by Anwar Ibrahim. Mahathir has promised on in the past and reiterated on Dec.10 that he would hand over power to Anwar, 72 and suggested he would do so after the APEC conference in November 2020.
