Turkey and Afghanistan sign cooperation agreement
Turkey’s Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) has signed a cooperation deal on information sharing with Afghanistan’s National Procurement Authority on Dec 6.
The agreement was singed during a business meeting organized by the DEIK’s Turkey-Afghanistan Business Council.
Officials and members of the business community also discussed economic relations, investment and cooperation opportunities between the countries. Current annual bilateral trade between Turkey and Afghanistan is around US$150mn and the two countries are hoping that it increases.
Nail Olpak, head of the DEIK, noted that there are significant opportunities for cooperation in construction, energy and security sectors.
