Turkish academics chosen for US list of top innovators, for their contribution to science, medicine, and the environment
The U.S. National Academy of Inventors (NAI) named three Turkish citizens in its annual list of prolific academic innovators. They were recognised for their contributions to science, medicine, and the environment.
Dr. Aykut Üren, an oncologist at Georgetown University was included in the list. Üren talked about his arrival to the U.S. in 1994 for post-doctoral studies.
Mihri Özkan, an electrical and computer engineer at the University of California, was also selected for the list. She mentioned that she came to the U.S. to study three decades ago.
Dr. Ebru Oral, an orthopedics specialist at the Laboratory of Massachusetts Hospital, was also among the 168 prolific academic innovators named in the list. Oral mentioned that he came to the U.S. to pursue a doctorate 21 years ago.
