Turkish Chef Akkor won in Gourmand World Cookbook Awards
Turkish Chef Yunus Emre Akkor has won the award in the ‘Local Cuisine’ category at Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in Madrid, with his book ‘Kayseri Cuisine from the Past to the Future’.
He will represent Turkey in the grand finale to be held in China in May 2020.
The book contains over 100 recipes of traditional dishes from Kayseri in central Turkey. It tracks the cuisine culture of Kayseri dating back to around 4000 B.C. and the Hittites.
Akkor previously won in 2012 Gourmand Awards with his book ‘Ottoman Seafood Cuisine’ written with his older sister Zennup Pınar Çakmakcı.
