UN unsure of Iranian involvement in Saudi oil attack
The United Nations has not been able to definitively confirm of Iranian involvement in an attack on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, earlier this year.
Drones and cruise missiles were used in the September bombardment, which knocked out out half of the Kingdom’s crude production and fueled a record surge in prices. Saudi officials, the United States and several European countries have accused Iran of responsibility for the attack which Tehran has denied.
UN investigators were given access to debris of weapons used in the attack and were unable to corroborate Iranian origins of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles used in the attack.
