Why gratefulness helps people to be happy?
Gratefulness or gratitude is the satisfaction of receiving the blessings of Allah in the world, giving thanks to Allah and being satisfied with all the decisions of Allah. And those who are satisfied with the few are the happiest in the world. Satisfaction with few things is one of the best human qualities. That is why the believing servants of Allah are always satisfied with a little and give thanks to Allah.
In the Quran, Allah reminds us of His general and special blessings and says,
‘O people! Remember favor of Allah upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the heaven and the earth? There is no god but Allah. ” (Quran 35: 3)
Allah has bestowed these blessings on us for the purpose of worshiping Allah and fulfilling our gratitude to Him.
Although people know about many blessings, most of them do not know about it. Allah bestows many blessings on human beings out of their knowledge. Protects him from innumerable dangers. In addition, many parts of the human body are constantly working for the benefit of his body and life without any desire.
In this context, Allah says, “And even if you want to count the blessings of Allah, you will not be able to count them.” (Quran 14:34)
Obedience to Allah with worshiping, Allah has bestowed grace on man with these blessings to build the earth properly. This is what the Quran says,
“And thus has He completed His blessings upon you that you may submit.” (Quran 16:11)
The one who uses the blessings of Allah for his satisfaction and choice, helps them to establish the religion, shows good manners towards creation, and fulfills the duties and responsibilities assigned to him, is the one who is truly grateful for the blessings. And whoever uses them for the cause of displeasing Allah, then he does not give thanks for the blessings of others without asserting his rights.
Gratefulness improves our moods
Gratefulness employs an element of optimism and happiness. Instead of seeing the pantry as half-empty, choose to see it as half-full and give thanks to your higher power.
Be grateful and optimistic instead of negative and pessimistic. Say ‘Alhamdulillah’ in all condition which means all thanks and praise to Allah. These are the beginning steps towards working for self-actualization and happiness. Appreciate even the smallest things and remember gratefulness impacts happiness as well as our spirituality.
When we show gratitude we place more value on what is occurring, the more we value something the more of an investment we will make.
Gratefulness impacts happiness
Allah instructed us to give thanks to Him and said,
“If you remember Me, I will remember you.” And thank me. Don’t be ungrateful to me.” (Quran 2: 152)
Believing in Allah is the greatest gratefulness. The greatest ingratitude or ungratefulness of blessings is the denial of the Qur’an and Sunnah; Not leading a life according to Quran and Sunnah. So, denying Islam and thanking for any other blessing will not be of any use.
Allah has promised to make the blessings of the grateful servants permanent, growing and blessed. He said, “If you give thanks, I will increase your blessings. And if you are ungrateful, My punishment is severe.” (Qur’an 14: 7)
The grateful servants of Allah will be blessed with all the benefits of this world and the Hereafter. Allah says,
“Soon Allah will reward those who are grateful.” (Quran-3: 144)
That is why the teaching of Islam is to always be grateful and to be steadfast in the right path. And those who follow the teachings of Islam and give thanks in all circumstances are the ones who get real happiness in the world. No frustration consumes them.
