From the recording studio to the runway? Malaysian darling Yuna may be a singer-songwriter but she’s quite the style icon too.

What with her tall, lanky body – she could easily pass off as a model! It’s almost no surprise top US modelling agency Wilhelmina Models took notice of her exotic beauty and took her under their wing. As of now, you could say she has officially signed on to Wilhelmina Models.

Besides models, Wilhelmina also manages celebrities, artists, athletes, and content creators worldwide. Yuna now joins Hollywood stars like Shawn Mendes, Nicki Minaj. The modelling agency also signed models like Kendall Jenner, Janice Dickinson in the past.

On Instagram, the ‘Crush’ singer shared a photo of herself looking chic in a plaid blazer and leather pants ensemble with a caption: “Hello world! Here’s the news I wanted to share with you guys. Your girl is now singed to @wilhelminamodels! Who would thought.. we did it mom! Happy I got to share this moment with my lil sis @massey_sw. LET’S GO TEAM! I’m ready to work!”

Of course, her fans back home in Malaysia flooded her Instagram with congratulatory messages.

So how did Yuna choose to celebrate? With some good ol’ Malaysian style curry meal!

“Here’s how I’m celebrating signing to Wilhelmina. I’m gonna cry,” she captioned in an Instagram story.

In early September, the spotlight was on Yuna after it was announced that she was nominated for E! People’s Choice Awards for Most Inspiring Asian Woman 2019.

“Wow when I first got into this I always felt small, felt like I didn’t deserve, felt like a bit of an outsider in every way.. so to be recognised as an inspiring Asian woman means a lot to me…” she wrote in an Instagram post.

The humble singer has worked extremely hard to be where she is today and is always an inspiration to the younger generation (especially her young Malaysian fans back home),  that one can achieve anything if they put their mind to it.
